A drink driver who was pulled over by police because he was driving erratically on the A66 has been banned from the road for 25 months.
Trevor William Strickland, 69, who was over the drink drive limit by more than three times when he was stopped at Embleton on March 6, admitted the offences before magistrates at Carlisle's Rickergate court today.
The court heard that the defendant, of Ellen Grove, Boltongate, Wigton, was ashamed and embarrassed to find himself before the court.
He must also observe a 12 week 7pm to 7am curfew and pay costs and associated charges of £170.
