Cumbria’s newly elected police fire and crime commissioner (PFCC), David Allen, met with chief constable, Rob Carden and chief fire officer, Rick Ogden on Thursday, May 9.
The PFCC met the Chiefs at Police Headquarters in Penrith where the PFCC’s Office is based.
David Allen won the election a total of 38,708 votes, ahead of former deputy PFCC, Mike Johnson a who received 24,863 votes and Kirkby Stephen town councillor, Adrian Waite who received 18,100 votes on a turnout of just over 20 per cent.
David Allen, was raised in Grange Over Sands and Cartmel and joined Cumbria Constabulary in 1986.
He went on to become a superintendent before working for the National Criminal Intelligence Service and the National Crime Agency.
In the election campaign, Mr Allen said that his priority would be to ensure every electoral ward in the county has its own, named police officer.
Mr Allen will hold office until the next election which is scheduled to be in 2024.
