His Majesty King Charles III has announced his continued support to Hospice at Home West Cumbria, renewing his Patronage with the charity.

This news came in a letter from Buckingham Palace, expressing His Majesty's pleasure in maintaining this connection.

The letter reads: "I am pleased to confirm that His Majesty would be delighted to retain the Patronage of Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

"It is my great pleasure to share this news with you, to mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation".

The King has been patron of Hospice at Home West Cumbria since 1997, during his time as HRH The Prince of Wales, recognising the charity's role in offering care and support to patients and families coping with a palliative diagnosis.

Brendon Cook, chair of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: "We are thrilled to have received the letter from Buckingham Palace announcing that His Majesty will be retaining his patronage with our charity.

"King Charles has supported us for many years, and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for his service."

Julie Monk, chief executive of the charity, said: "It is a privilege to welcome His Majesty The King as our charity Patron and we look forward to inviting him back to visit us in the near future."
