Rosley Village Hall is set to welcome Irish country musicians Mary B and Paul Gallagher next Sunday (May 19).

The husband and wife team from Donegal, Southern Ireland, gained popularity with their country classics and popular Irish tunes.

Their career highlights include touring and playing festivals in America, along with Charley Pride and Hal Ketchum, and playing at the Hunter Mountain Festival Upstate New York and Coney Island Festival.

In their early days in the 1970s, they formed a band called Pluto and then transitioned in the 1990s to Mary B & Bakersfield, which focused on the English and Irish country music scene.

Their hits like The Speed of the Sound of Loneliness, Pearl’s a Singer, Folsom Prison Blues, Wake Up Little Susie, and Old Rustic Bridge will entertain Rosley audiences.

Organiser Adele Egglestone of Penrith, said: "We’re looking forward to welcoming Mary and Paul back to Rosley.

"We had a great night with them last September – they are a great duo with many hits under their belts and always put on a great show."

Tickets are available for pre-purchase at £14 and can be bought from Adele on 07706 597132.

The show starts at 8pm with doors open at 7pm.
