POLICE rushed to reports of a man allegedly brandishing a knife on Carlisle's high street over the weekend.
Upon arrival at English Street on Saturday afternoon (April,13), a swift investigation revealed that this was not the case.
It's understood the reports may have been sparked by someone dressed in historical attire for educational purposes.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "Officers received a report of a man with an alleged knife in the area of English Street, Carlisle
"Officers carried out a search of the area and located the man within minutes of the report.
"The item was not as reported."
