A Carlisle man has launched a fundraiser to pay for flights for Senegal with the aim of retrieving his stolen phone.

Owen Gornall was on holiday in Tenerife last month with his friends when he had his phone nicked.

Spanish police were unable to locate the phone as it was turned off, but one month on, Owen's phone location has been updated to Louga, Senegal.

A post on X, formerly known as Twitter, asking the Hardest Geezer if he 'fancied running back down to Senegal' after his monumental run through Africa, gained over 30,000 likes.

It also attracted the attention of Scottish YouTuber, Callum Abroad, who documents his travel adventures on his vlogging channel.

He offered to make the trip to Senegal to retrieve Owen's phone, so long as £1,000 could be raised to cover the cost of the flights to Dakar.

A fundraiser was launched on GoFundMe by Owen, but refunds were issued after it raised just £20.
