A CUMBRIAN motor club will be supporting charities in the county later this month with a classic car event.

The charities that Wigton Motor Club will be supporting this year are: West Cumbria Carers and the Jigsaw Children’s Hospice.

The multi award winning club runs a number of events specifically to raise money for the nominated charities.

The first of these is Drive It Day at Dalemain on April 21st.  Drive It Day is a national event co-ordinated by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs to celebrate classic motoring and takes place on the Sunday nearest to St. George’s Day.

There are events throughout the country, all raising money for different charities.

Drive It Day at Dalemain is open to all classic vehicle owners and is open from 11 until 2 with enthusiasts able to arrive and depart as they wish. WMC will be organising a short scenic run at the end of the meet.

Drive It Day is free to enter but we ask for a donation of at least £5 per car to our charities.  Refreshments will be available at Dalemain Mansion.

People will be attending from as far away as Kent and Aberdeen.
