The Royal Scot pub in Morton has closed for the second time in a year after the contract was not renewed.
The Royal Scot initially closed its doors in September 2022 after previous landlords Mike and Maxine Grierson decided to retire.
The pub was reopened by local lads, Adam Smith and Jordan Morrison last April before being taken on by the current owners in October 2023.

In a statement, the team at the Royal Scot said: “With deepest regrets we are informing you all that Sunday will be our last working day, we are closing the doors permanently due to not renewing the contract.
“We would like to thank you all for the support you have given us whilst we have been here.”
The Royal Scot is a popular pub amongst members of the local community and hopes have been raised that new management will take over the running of the pub.
