AN animal charity is set to hold a fundraising car boot sale.
Penrith-based Eden Animal Rescue will host the car boot sale on Sunday, April 14 at Penrith Auction Mart between 9 am and 1 pm.
The event will help the small local charity continue its work, which includes finding new homes for rescued animals.
One such rescued animal is Connie the Lurcher who has been in the care of the Penrith charity for 700 days after she was abandoned in a field near the charity's based in Temple Sowerby, however, the charity continues its efforts to find her a new home.
"Connie sadly was left in a field near the centre so we have no history about her," The charity said on its website.
"Connie has lots of energy and is very strong on a lead so continuous training will be needed.
"It is also possible that she has never lived in a house before but she is very clever and will learn new experiences very quickly
