A 'lovely' Penrith-based cafe and bistro has gone up for sale.

The business, located in Devonshire Arcade in the centre of Penrith, has been trading under the name Simple Goodness Bistro since 2019 and has a turnover of £83,000, according to its sale listing.

The business' leasehold is currently listed for £22,000 and included in this price is the bistro's inventory of fixtures, fittings, and equipment as well as its seating area, servery, catering kitchen, and toilet.

The business' name and recipes are available separately.

The business has been listed by Mere Commercial Ltd, with them describing the listing online.

They said: "This is an opportunity to acquire a lovely 25 cover-going café/bistro in a shopping arcade in the centre of the market town of Penrith, which lies on the edge of the Lake District.

"The business is currently trading just below the VAT threshold from Wednesday to Saturday between 11.30am and 4pm, operated with two proprietors and no additional staff.

"It has no alcohol licence, but the unit has benefited from a premises licence in the past. Customers include a mix of regular locals and tourists.

"The business has the potential to expand its hours and offerings. The proprietors are selling for personal reasons."
