The Lanes, Carlisle 'thrilled' by success of Bingo and Bluey event

The shopping centre in Carlisle's city centre gave locals the chance to meet their favourite characters from the animated television series 'Bluey' on Wednesday, April 3. 

The event proved to be extremely popular among locals as queues in The Lanes sprawled from the outside of Debenhams, where the meet and greet was held, to Primark.

The Lanes' centre manager Susan Young was in charge of the event and expressed her excitement at its popularity and success.

She said: "We are absolutely thrilled.

"We have had this planned for some time now and we thought it would be popular but the response we have had from the people of Carlisle and the surrounding areas has been absolutely phenomenal.

"I think at one point the line was outside of Primark so it is madness but Bluey and Bingo are super, they love meeting all the children and are really enjoying their visit to Carlisle.

"The plan is to obviously showcase The Lanes and bring people to The Lanes but also showcase the city as well because Carlisle is a fantastic city."

Despite the overwhelming popularity of the visit of Bluey and Bingo, Susan revealed that there are plenty of events still to take place at The Lanes as the year progresses. 

She said: "I have got a long history of events and my head constantly works and thinks about what we can do next. 

"Once this is ticked off we start planning for our next event which is in May but right now this is a great atmosphere, I've got a big smile on my face and I just love it."
