Members of a local dog club saw success at this year’s Crufts.

Those in Carliol Ringcraft Society showed their dogs on the famous green carpet and left happy and proud of their achievements.

Hannah Waugh won Best of Breed with her foxhound Roxborough and represented the dog in the hound group, alongside fellow Cumbrian Steph Maston-Pollock’s whippet Fendi.

Kath Clark’s sloughi Esme enjoyed a day out, being represented on hound day on Sunday after educating visitors to Crufts on the discover dogs stand, and was awarded Best Bitch in Breed.

Several other members were pleased with their dogs’ performances, like Dougal, a Havanese, which places second in the puppy class, and Hath Holliday’s dog Wilf was awarded a reserve.

Kay Cook’s labrador puppy called ‘Naughty Norman’ was awarded second place in its class, and Sandy Nokes’ Hungarian wire-haired vizsla Orla won the post-graduate class.

Sophie Mair, at her first Crufts, was pleased when her lab Dora won the retired gamekeeper class, and Judith Fawcett’s border terrier Floss was placed first in a very strong junior class.

The club’s youngest members competed in the Young Kennel Club finals.

Robert Stuart got a reserve place in his age group with his Hamilton Stovare Anna, who also won reserve in its breed class.

Also competing in the finals was a very dapper Leo Page with his border terrier Juniper, placing third in the good citizens class.
