Solfest Music Festival has confirmed the line-up for its 20th-anniversary.

The festival, which expects a crowd of around 10,000, presents an extensive line-up across its 10 stages, with genres including rock, drum and bass, folk, world music and reggae.

Notably, New York's hip-hop trio De La Soul, reggae group and former backing band of Bob Marley The Wailers, Brit Pop duo The Bluetones, Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook and the Light, alongside electronic musicians Utah Saints and alternative rock sensation Republica will all perform at the event.

Festival organizer Sam Johnston said: "We are thrilled to mark our 20th anniversary with such a fantastic lineup, evoking memories of many incredible moments.

"The Wailers, who headlined in 2010, were our first choice for the anniversary year, their performance is still talked about to this day.

"There's an undeniable magic in Bob Marley's Songbook that brings generations together."

Located at the North Lakes Country Park in Silloth, Cumbria, overlooking the seascape and nestled within The Lake District and Southern Scotland peaks, the festival will take place from August 22 to August 25 later this year.

Festival-goers can enjoy infectious tunes by The Bluetones that harken back to the heyday of indie rock or dance to the unique "acid house country" sound of Alabama 3.

They can also experience electronic music pioneers Utah Saints, original innovators in the dance and techno scene, or move to the dance floor with anthems from British electronic group N-Trance.

Mr Johnston added: "20 years is an amazing achievement for a festival.

"I first attended in 2007 at the age of 17, and I've witnessed the festival evolve through numerous changes since then but the one thing that never changes is the vibe and the people who attend."

Tickets for the festival are available for purchase, offering music lovers the chance to join the four-day event.

The festival describes itself as "a truly national festival with a local family feel that is hard to replicate".
