Cumbria Fire and Rescue have announced they'll be in attendance at Kendal Calling this weekend.

They have offered some tips on how to keep you and your property safe if you are camping at the festival.

A spokesperson said: "Kendal Calling is this weekend and we know everyone will be excited to attend – including us.

"There will be Cumbria Fire and Rescue staff on site as part of the festival’s co-ordination team making sure everyone is safe.

"We want everyone to have a great time and stay safe. So if you are camping over this weekend, keep you and your property safe by:

"Keeping any open flames outside and away from your tent and any potential explosives such as spray-on deodorants.

"Don’t light any fires or bring a used BBQ into a closed tent, no matter the weather. Fires create carbon monoxide which can be deadly if inhaled.

"Make sure any fires are completely extinguished before leaving them unattended – even the smallest spark can cause the biggest fire.

"Any portable chargers or battery operated tech should be kept out of direct heat – if these devices overheat, they can combust and start fires.

"If you do spot a fire or feel a device growing hot, contact the fire staff onsite or on 999 in an emergency.

"Let’s all stay safe and have a great weekend."
