An all-ages festival of activities will be held next month.

The Carlisle Unity Festival takes place from 9am to 4pm on Thursday, July 15.

Activities will be hosted at the Tullie House museum, with visitors invited to make the day as interactive, relaxing, quiet, or thought-provoking as they wish.

The event is being co-created by many partners locally, coordinated by black and minority ethnic (BME) representative group AWAZ Cumbria, all focused on this year’s theme of ‘the power of unity’.

The events kick off at 10:30am with a participative welcome, where people can meet Carlisle’s mayor Abdul Harid, and a series of activities, talks, and workshops will continue.

There will be live music, and downtime for a picnic in the garden.

Throughout the day there will be stands from local organisations who will be up for a conversation about what they offer, until the event ends at 4pm.
