Emergency services were called out to the scene of a lorry fire on a busy motorway.
Firefighters from Carlisle East Fire Station were called to reports of a lorry fire on the M6 Northbound between Junction 41 and Junction 42 at about 6.30am today.
A spokesperson from Carlisle East Fire Station said the fire "involved the wheel of the tractor unit of the lorry" and that the driver had "separated the tractor unit from the trailer unit to ensure the fire didn't spread to the load."

At approximately 6.30am, appliances from Carlisle East, Penrith, and Lazonby, attended a fire involving an HGV on the M6 Northbound, between junctions 41 and 42.
The driver was uninjured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Police and National Highways were also on hand.
One lane was closed during the incident.
