Sustainable Brampton is hosting an informal workshop, called Together we have the Power on Sunday, September 26, to help members of the community ‘do their bit’ to reduce their personal carbon footprint and thus, in their words, contribute collectively to reducing the effects of global warming on our way of life in Cumbria.

They said: "It has never been more important to ‘think global and act local’ and the presentations at the workshop will highlight many local opportunities to get involved.

"By acting together we can create the power to change."

Tim Coombe, Chair of Sustainable Brampton said, "This event provides an ideal opportunity for local people to discover what is going on and hopefully be persuaded to make a personal contribution towards achieving a better future either through individual effort or by joining a project group, where new volunteers are always extremely welcome!"

This free event runs from 11am to 3pm in the Brampton Community Centre on Sunday 26th September and is part of the Great Big Green Week which is a nationwide event celebrating community action on climate change.

Together we have the Power is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and are part of the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership’s ambitious emission reduction programme to make Cumbria carbon neutral by 2037.
