Bookmakers fancy Carlisle United to pick up their first win of the season against Swindon Town this weekend.

The Blues are favourites* to chalk up victory at the County Ground.

Chris Beech’s side take on Ben Garner’s Robins in United’s first away game of the League Two season.

And while Carlisle were much stronger at home than on the road last term, the bookies reckon that will change when the Cumbrians head to Wiltshire.

They are 6/4 for the win with Betfair, William Hill, Betfred and BetVictor.

Swindon, despite winning their opening game on the road at Scunthorpe, are 2/1 to beat the Blues with Betfred and Unibet, and 9/5 with Sky Bet and Paddy Power.

The draw is 9/4 with Bet Victor and 11/5 with Sky Bet and 888 Sport.

Swindon managed eight wins, one draw and 14 defeats at home last season as they slipped to League One relegation.

Carlisle’s away record was won six, drew seven, lost 10.

United’s Lewis Alessandra has the shortest odds to be the Cumbrians’ first goalscorer of the season.

He is 5/1 to open the scoring at the County Ground, with Tristan Abrahams 6/1.

Swindon’s Harry Parsons has their shortest odds to get the game’s first goal at 13/2.

If you reckon it’ll be another 0-0 draw for the Cumbrians, though, the odds are 8/1 with BetVictor.

Carlisle’s last visit to the County Ground came early in the 2019/20 season, when goals from Olufela Olomola and Mo Sagaf were not enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat for Steven Pressley’s Blues.

Before that they enjoyed an emphatic 4-0 win under John Sheridan, with Regan Slater (two), Ashley Nadesan and Jamie Devitt on target.

Carlisle have only won twice in 24 visits to the County Ground, the other coming in February 2011 when a James Berrett strike clinched a 1-0 win.

Otherwise the Robins have won 11 of the meetings at their home ground, with 11 draws.
