In today's gallery, we look back at a fascinating visit from one of British tennis' leading figures to our region.

Back in 2013, Judy Murray, the mother of tennis stars Andy and Jamie ventured to Carlisle to take a coaching session attended by some very lucky youngsters at the city's Chatsworth Tennis Club.

Judy is, of course, known for her passionate support of her two sons, both of whom have lifted honours at Wimbledon in the singles championship in the case of younger brother Andy and in the doubles and mixed doubles in the case of Jamie.

Both brothers have since been honoured by the Queen for services to tennis with a knighthood and CBE for Andy and Jamie, respectively.

With many of us watching on this year to see whether another Brit can emerge victorious to become the first Briton since Andy to land a singles Grand Slam gong, it therefore felt like the perfect time to see when his mother Judy came to our region to pass on her expertise.

We see some heartwarming images with Carlisle's youngsters fixed with concentration as they looked to hone their talents in the presence of one of the country's most respected figures in the sport.

Amongst them, seen being coached by Judy and Alistair Higham (pictured) is youngster, Ben Crooks, aged eight from Carlisle, and many others!

For those who took part in the session, one would imagine that, to this day, the session itself is fondly recalled whenever Wimbledon comes round this time of year, every summer.

Of course, as the championships get into full swing, many more youngsters will feel inspired to pick up a racquet, some of them for the first time.

Who knows? Watching the action down at SW19 might well mark the beginning of a life-long passion for many a youngster from our area and, one day, we could end up cheering on a Wimbledon champion of our own!

As ever, if you recognise yourself in today's galley, please do make sure to get in touch and relay your memories of this great day spent in the presence of some tennis royalty!
