FIREFIGHTERS have battled a blazing car fire near Carlisle.
The incident happened at about 2.30pm today at Houghton, with firefighters from Carlisle East Fire Station at the scene.
A spokesman said: "A car was well alight and the crew extinguished the blaze using a hosereel and a set of breathing apparatus."
