£1,000 of clothes stolen from Cumbrian M&S store

Clothing worth almost £1,000 has been snatched by thieves from the Marks & Spencer store in Workington.

Jumpers were taken from displays in the Pow Street town centre store at around 10.15am yesterday.

Police say that a man they want to talk to in connection with the theft is around 6ft tall and was seen wearing a black jacket, hooded top and black trousers.

They say that 18 rainbow-flecked jumpers, which retail for £35 each, and 18 jumpers with a zig-zag design were taken from thestore.

The thief is reported to have left the store via the Pow Street entrance.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call PC Debbie French on 101 or anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
