HOW THEY MET: They already knew each other but while getting into a taxi to go home something told Rachael to get out and go and give him a kiss and that’s how they got to arrange their first date after years of Brett trying to persuade Rachael to meet him for a coffee
PROPOSAL: Brett proposed via Facetime from Afghanistan and organised with Rachael’s eight-year-old son Callum to give her the ring
VENUE: Hunday Manor Country House Hotel, near Workington
THEME: Grey and burgundy
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A tea rose and ivory fitted lace and tulle gown by David Tutera accessorised with a matching choker, three tier veil and Irregular Choice character heels. All supplied by Blush of Whitehaven
GROOMSMEN: Paul Caton, groom’s best friend, was best man. Callum Irving, bride’s son, was page boy. Paul McGee, Kelvin O’Leary, Stephen Green and Nick Hannon were ushers. The groom wore a Prince of Wales tweed three-piece suit from Signature Bespoke of Liverpool. The best man and ushers wore light grey three-piece suits from Guide of London
BRIDESMAIDS: Lindsey Gorman, bride’s best friend, was chief bridesmaid and Debbie Hasley and Fiona Chambers were bridesmaids. They wore full length, steel grey chiffon and lace detailed dresses by True Bride, supplied by Blush of Whitehaven
FLOWERS: A lace hand tied fresh, wild bouquet of red roses, tulips, burgundy and Calla lilies with matching hairpiece. The groom, best man and page boy wore matching buttonholes. The bridesmaids carried hand-tied fresh white roses and gypsophila with matching hairpieces. The ushers wore matching buttonholes. Flowers were by Linda Carruthers of Nook Street, Workington
TRANSPORT: A matching pair of baby white Chryslers by Enchanted Limousines
RECEPTION: For 180 guests at Hunday Manor Hotel, Cockermouth
