CLUB Concrete kicks off the bank holiday weekend early in Carlisle by welcoming a host of familiar faces on Friday May 4.

Ki Creighton tops the bill at the Lowther Street nightclub, joined by Makanan, Lordie and Dean Godber from 10pm.

Annan's Creighton has been a bastion of proper house music over three decades, and after launching his label Under No Illusion in 2013, his rise has been stratospheric.

He's become a regular at the likes of Elrow at Space, Hot Creations at Digital, Cafe Mambo, Papagayo in Gran Canaria, not to mention Sonar where he played a total of three gigs one year.

He’s also become something of a local legend in Cologne, holding down a residency at Living Room having previously spun at the world-famous Heinz Gaul and Reineke Fuchs.

Before Ki hit the heights internationally he really earned his stripes rocking it at venues across the UK since the mid 90s, including a residency at legendary Carlisle club night Uber which lasted 10 years.

At Uber he played alongside the likes of Roger Sanchez, Hot Since 82, Green Velvet, Eats Everything, David Morales and Yousef.

Spanish DJ and producer Makanan - who recently released a split EP with Ki Creighton, called Lucid Dreams - is another high-profile name on the bill.

His career began in the 90s, and he began producing his own music as far back as 2002. In 2017, he was number 66 in Beatport's most-sold artists of the year, and he has had music released through labels such as Elrow, Toolroom, WOW!, Under No illusions, and ROUSH.

Up-and-coming star Lordie has been causing quite a stir amongst some of the world's most respected artists of late, and her music has been supported by the likes of Darius Syrossian, Skream and Richy Ahmed.

Carlisle's own Dean Godber will be getting things under way on the night.

Doors open at 10pm, and entrance is payable on the door.
