Keith Curle pledged there is still much more to come from his resilient Carlisle United team after their impressive start to the campaign.

The manager insists his side have not yet reached their full potential despite having not yet been defeated in 2016/17.

Carlisle's 10-game unbeaten start, which has equalled a club Football League record, has seen three wins and seven draws so far.

That included a battling 2-2 draw at strongly-fancied Doncaster on Tuesday night - a game Curle believed demonstrated his team's fighting spirit.

He said: "We have to take on board how far we've come in a short space of time.

"Look at the games we've played now. Doncaster, who were plying their trade last season in the division above and so were Blackpool.

"We had the outright favourites in Portsmouth on the opening day.

"But we're competitive and have come through those games unscathed - and I still think there's more to come."

Carlisle are also one of just two teams to beat leaders Plymouth, who have since opened up a five-point gap at the top of League Two.

The Blues are seventh, but just a point adrift of second-placed Luton.

Curle said he was pleased with the resilience shown in the Donny draw and insists the home contingent were happy to end the game with a point.

The United boss said: "Doncaster have a very good, talented squad, with something like 10 more players than us, and while they've got four or five of their bigger players who might not be performing at the minute due to injury, they've got a strength in depth.

"But they wanted that final whistle to come.

"We had the ascendancy, we had the dominance in how we were playing at that stage, and we were hurting them."

Curle also believes fans should be "proud" of how the Blues are progressing so far.

He added: "There's a unity that's growing, a resilience about the group, and a focus about the group.

"And I'm proud to say that I'm leading that.

"I want to be successful, I've got focus, I've got a demanding personality, whereby I want to maximise everything that I've got, and also everything the players have got, on a daily basis in every game.

"The supporters can be very proud of what we're trying to create at the football club."
