Manager Keith Curle insists patience will be a virtue for Carlisle United today as they try to overcome Cheltenham's counter-attacking approach.

The boss expects United's visitors to put men behind the ball and try to ambush the Blues on the break.

He says Carlisle must be aware of counterpart Gary Johnson's likely plan to frustrate the home crowd and players.

"They sit off and look for the counter-attack," Curle said.

"Within that, they have got a physical presence, and good pace and movement.

"We need to be patient with our build-up, put the ball in right areas and put balls in the box where we think we can hurt them.

"Is the game going to be all about us? No. Cheltenham have got a threat and they can score goals.

"They might surprise us and throw caution to the wind but away from home I think they are more suited to men behind the ball and counter attacks, trying to frustrate the crowd and players.

"Goals change games. It can take 96 minutes to win the game but if you take your opportunities at the right time, it can make your afternoon easier."

After two impressive wins on the road, Carlisle are seeking their first home points of the new season this afternoon.
