Greek defender Dimitris Kotsonis is the latest player to link up with Carlisle United on trial.

The 29-year-old centre-half played for the Blues in yesterday's 2-0 friendly win at Penrith.

Kotsonis' agent recommended the defender to United boss John Sheridan, who fielded him for the full 90 minutes at Frenchfield Park.

Sheridan said he felt the player did "alright" but said he would not make a judgement purely on yesterday's performance.

Kotsonis has most recently played with Greek second-tier side Trikala.

He has spent all his career with clubs in his home nation, having previously been with PAS Lamia, Apollon Symrnis, Paniliakos, Ergotelis and Aris Saloniki.

Forward Lewis Walters also featured again for the Blues in a 45-minute display but Sheridan confirmed ex-Manchester United defender Charlie Scott was no longer with Carlisle.
