Winger Jack Stacey has extended his loan so he can be involved in Carlisle United's last two games of the season.

The Reading player's initial spell ran out after last Saturday's victory at Crawley.

But Stacey, 20, will now remain with the Blues for their remaining games against Oxford tomorrow and Notts County next weekend.

The wide man has scored twice in eight appearances so far, his strikes both coming at Brunton Park against Bristol Rovers and Luton.

Boss Keith Curle said on United's website:“Jack has had a good first month and we’ve seen that he gives us different options.

“We think there’s more to come from him and we’re pleased that he’s going to be with us through the final weeks of the campaign.

"He’s enjoyed being in the environment and he’ll be learning a lot from working within a competitive first team environment.”

Defender Michael Raynes is back in training, meanwhile, having been given the all-clear following a head injury.

The centre-half has missed the Blues' last two games following a nasty collision in the 0-0 draw at Cambridge on April 16.

But manager Curle said 28-year-old Raynes is available for selection for tomorrow's final home game of the season against his former club Oxford.

Curle said: "Michael's back in training, he's been given the all-clear to regain physical activities which is pleasing.

"Nobody's going to go against the experts - you have to listen and take advice, and when you have collisions there's mandatory period of time they stipulate when a player is not allowed to be involved.

"That has passed and Michael is available, up and running and back involved."

If Raynes returns he may have to contend with League Two's player of the year - Oxford's Kemar Roofe.

The visiting star man will be aiming to fire Michael Appleton's side to a victory that could see them promoted.

Curle said: "He [Roofe] is a good player, a game-changer, a matchwinner who can play in a higher division.

"Oxford have got a decent squad, a decent budget and a manager who has finally landed at a club that suits him.

"We've got aspirations to be where they are next season. They have been good enough to allow us to train at their facility before and you can see they've got plans in place to develop their training ground and infrastructure.

"You get a better feel-good factor when things are more successful.

"We are striving to bring a consistent level of improvement year-in, year-out here as well.

"I know where this club was [when I came in]. I'm happy to say we've taken strides to improve on and off the pitch to stand us in good stead, and we need to maintain that momentum.

"As soon as you say you're happy to be a League Two football club in mid-table, that's when the rot sets in and you creep back to where you were."

Oxford are set to bring a bumper travelling support to Brunton Park and their chairman, Darryl Eales, is laying on free food and drink before the game at the Magpie pub in Botcherby.

Curle said: "I've read in the press about the chairman buying everybody drinks and hotdogs - I'll make sure he knows he's not going to get credit, he's got to pay cash!"
