BACK for another year, C-Art festival is set to be the hive of creative activity across Cumbria.

Between Friday September 8 - Sunday 17, C-Art Festival will be hosting events across Cumbria – including the opening of the Cumbrian Artist of the Year Exhibition and Award Ceremony at Rheged, Art in Extraordinary Places, gallery and artist open studios and a Crafty Vintage retro art market.

With artists and makers already signed up for the C-Art membership programme and Open Studios event, Eden Arts are offering creatives another opportunity to sell their work at Rheged on the opening weekend of C-Art Festival at the Art Fair.

The Art Fair is open to artists, makers and creatives from Cumbria and beyond and will offer high quality art, craft, jewellery, furniture and more to cultural visitors in September.

In a partnership between Eden Arts and Rheged, the 10 day fair aims to show work from new and established artists and makers, with visitors having the chance to chat to the artists about their works, buy or commission work directly from them, and also watch them at work through demonstrations.

Director Adrian Lochhead said: "We are really excited about the developments to C-Art this year and are looking forward to working with partners in Cumbria and beyond, including The National Trust at Acorn Bank, East Street Arts - Leeds, Crafty Vintage – Lancaster, Rheged and Brunswick Yard - Penrith.

"We have widened the amount of opportunities for artists to get involved and are also looking to bring exceptional work from outside the county to the C-Art Festival. Last year saw 22,500 visitors to the exhibition, and £11,200 in sales so it will be fantastic to add the fair to the offer for those visitors".

As part of the C-Art Festival 2017, the art fair opens alongside The C-Art Cumbrian Artist of the Year Exhibition which promises to show a tremendous variety of artwork in styles that are both familiar and surprising and champion the quality of Cumbrian Art.

Artists can find out more and apply to be an exhibitor at the Art Fair on Twitter at www.c-art.org.uk/artists-opportunities and there is still time to apply to the Open Studios and C-Art Cumbrian Artist of the Year Award.
