A road will be closed next week for road works which are expected to last from two to three weeks.

It affects Chapel Street in Appleby, and will be in place from May 7 as United Utilities continues work for the flood defence scheme.

The road will be closed from Pigneys petrol station to the Broad Close car park, and there will be two-way traffic lights operating on Low Wiend.

While the works are expected to last two to three weeks, the road barriers and lights will be removed on the evening of May 10 until the morning of May 13 to allow Covid jabs at Appleby Medical Practice.
