THE next Launchpad showcase night in Carlisle features its heaviest line-up yet, with some of the area's most promising metal bands set to feature.

Aspire, The Dissident Youth and What We've Become share the stage at The Brickyard on Saturday August 4.

Dumfries-based five-piece Aspire announced their arrival last summer, launching a self-titled debut EP before they'd played a live show.

Playing heavy metalcore, they've recently supported top French bands Novelists and Landmvrks on their recent UK tour show in Glasgow, and a debut hometown show in support of Scottish prog metal act Tiberius.

Hometown metalcore band The Dissident Youth have had a huge year so far, recently headlining their first Carlisle gig, supporting W.A.S.P legend Chris Holmes, and reaching the final of the regional Metal 2 the Masses competition.

They will be playing material from last year's debut album, as well as recent single Wolves, unreleased tracks and some well-known covers.

Completing the line-up are What We've Become - another Carlisle metalcore act who put out a debut release in 2017.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Parkway Drive, While She Sleeps and Killswitch Engage, expect heavy riffs and big choruses to feature in their set.

Doors for the show on Saturday August 4 open at 8pm, and tickets are available in advance via
