France striker Alexandre Lacazette will miss Arsenal’s Europa League last-16 fixtures with Rennes after being given an additional two-match ban by UEFA for his dismissal at BATE Borisov.

Lacazette has been punished for his direct red card in the February 14 last-32 first leg loss in Belarus, given a three-match ban, but as he missed Thursday night’s second leg his absence is for a further two matches.

After having a second-half equaliser correctly ruled out for offside, Lacazette was sent off for swinging an elbow in frustration towards Aleksandar Filipovic with five minutes remaining.

Chelsea face further disciplinary action in charges announced on Friday and to be heard on March 28.

The Blues have been charged for a pitch invader in Thursday night’s win over Malmo, who have been charged for their supporters using flares.

Chelsea and Malmo are already facing charges for offences in the February 14 first leg, while UEFA is yet to rule on the alleged anti-Semitic chanting by Chelsea supporters in December’s fixture with Vidi in Budapest.

Valencia’s Geoffrey Kondogbia has been banned for their next round ties against Krasnodar for deliberately being booked in the win over Celtic.

And Schalke have been charged with throwing of objects during their 3-2 Champions League loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
