Carlisle United’s loan striker Olufela Olomola will not face parent club Scunthorpe tomorrow because of a “gentleman’s agreement”.
The two-goal frontman will be denied the chance to face the Iron, who he left for Brunton Park on a season-long loan this summer.
It means manager Steven Pressley will have to look at his attacking options for the trip to Glanford Park, with Elias Sorensen and Ryan Loft among those under consideration for a call-up.
Olomola has made seven appearances so far and has started United’s last two games after earning a recall.
On the Scunthorpe situation, Pressley said: “I’m not sure there’s anything in the contract [to prevent him playing] but there’s always a gentlemen’s agreement in these circumstances and we respect that.”
Sorensen will be hoping for his first start since his loan move from Newcastle. The Dane has come close to scoring on recent sub appearances.
Pressley said: “His goals will come because he’s getting into the positions. It will take a little bit of time but I have real faith in that kid.”
