Carlisle United and their supporters trust CUOSC are holding a foodbank appeal before tomorrow’s game against Salford.

The collection is being made on behalf of Carlisle Foodbank, which aims to provide three days of emergency food for people in crisis.

They say every donation of tinned or long life food is valuable, but the Foodbank is always in need of UHT or powdered milk.

Toiletries, nappies, baby wipes and household cleaning products would also be appreciated.

The collection point will be the CUOSC supporters’ surgery in the Study Centre, next to the Blues Store, between 1.30-2.45pm.

“CUOSC are trying to develop the bond between the club and community and believe appeals like this help,” the fans’ trust said. “Remember, every donation counts no matter how big or small.”

A list of items welcomed includes: Milk (UHT or powdered), sugar (500g), long life fruit juice (carton), packet soup, pasta sauces (tin, jar or packet), sponge pudding (tinned), custard (tinned or packet instant), tomatoes, (tinned), cereals, rice pudding (tinned), small box tea bags/small instant coffee, instant mashed potato, rice, tinned meat/fish, tinned fruit and vegetables, tinned spaghetti, tinned ravioli, jam/marmalade, biscuits or snack bars, Pot Noodles, toiletries such as toilet roll, deodorant, shampoo, soap, nappies, baby wipes and household cleaning products.
