Manager Steven Pressley says Carlisle United’s Carabao Cup second-round tie at Rochdale presents “a winnable challenge”.
After the Blues claimed a 3-0 victory at Championship side Barnsley on Tuesday, they were drawn against the League One outfit in the next round, with United yesterday confirming the tie will be played on August 27.
Pressley said: “The honest truth is I get why supporters want to be drawn against the big clubs. But the reality is I wanted a tie, where I felt we could progress because I want us to go as far as we possibly can in the competition.
"Rochdale, again a team from a higher division, represents a very good challenge for us.
"But it’s a winnable challenge.”
