THREE committee members at Carlisle's Border Badminton Club have been celebrated after marking a combined century at the club.
At an AGM earlier this month, treasurer John Parkinson and county secretary Barbara Davidson stepped down from their roles, while current chairman Brian Skinner, who is staying on, was also commemorated for his service to the club.
The three stalwarts have likely accumulated over 100 years of service to the racket club, which trains and plays at the University of Cumbria's Fusehill Street campus.
John has been a member of the club for over 40 years and served as an officer for 25, while Brian has been chairman for 36 years and counting.
The club's new treasurer Matt Davis paid tribute to the trio when speaking to the News & Star.
He said: "Brian, John and Barbara have been stalwarts for the club, leading it through some very tough points during the pandemic.
"John and Barbara leave the club in a fantastic position, with over 50 senior members and over 20 junior members which is increasing season on season.
"We now enter seven teams through three leagues in the North Cumbria Badminton Leagues and we are now financially stable."
Tom Davis has taken the role of vice chairman alongside his current duties as club secretary.
Sarah Kilgour has taken the role of match secretary, while Greg Metcalfe is the new safeguarding officer.
