CARLISLE United Assistant manager Gav Skelton has challenged the Blues to bounce back from the FA Cup disappointment at Walsall.

Two late goals from Andy Williams and Douglas James-Taylor snatched victory away from Carlisle at the Poundland Bescot Stadium at weekend.

However, after the Blues were defeated by Blackpool in the Central League Cup midweek, Gav Skelton urged Carlisle to respond to the defeat on the outskirts of Birmigham ahead of back-to-back home encounters.

He said: "We’re all disappointed, but the key is that we learn from it and push on.

"We have to take the frustration we felt and make sure we harness it and use it. Sutton, Barrow, Northampton, none of them will feel sorry for us.

"We have to take the negatives and turn them into positives when we play these teams in the coming weeks."

Paul Simpson's side face Sutton United this weekend before welcoming bitter local rivals Barrow to Brunton Park; the sides last met earlier this season at Holker Street in the Papa John's EFL Trophy.
