Cumbrian star Jarrad Branthwaite has been named in the PSV Eindhoven squad for their Champions League clash with Rangers.

Branthwaite will be in a 22-man party that heads to Glasgow for Tuesday's qualifying first leg.

The former Carlisle United defender is on loan from Everton with the Dutch club and boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that the Wigton star is in the mix for the Ibrox game.

Branthwaite will be hoping to get his second PSV appearance in the tie, having made his debut in their dramatic victory over Monaco in the third qualifying round.

Branthwaite - dubbed "the English tank" by his new club - came off the bench in extra-time as PSV booked their two-legged clash with Rangers.

He was an unused substitute for their 5-2 Eredivisie victory over Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday.

After Tuesday's first leg in Ibrox, PSV host Rangers in the second leg next Wednesday.

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram, speaking on Rangers TV, said of the clash: "It’s just another massive night again for the club. We’re going to need everyone behind us again and we need to produce the atmosphere like we did last week. We need everything we can get."
