Carlisle United fans were in positive spirits after the opening-day 1-0 win over Crawley Town.

Here's what they made of the game when they gave us their views on Twitter...

Great performance. That's what a hard working pre-season can achieve. The high press was impressive and has been very successful for teams in League Two. The new signings have fitted in well, and we look better all over the pitch. (@BruceVander)

Really really good, every player put in a shift not one player was a passenger, a score line of five or six wouldn’t have flattered us we created that much! (@Matthewgaskell9)

Looked really sharp particularly first 30 mins. Some really impressive performances. Moxon MOTM for me. Gibson had a good game but missed a couple of good chances to put game to bed (that turn on the halfway line in first half though) (@MarkDen40725244)

Impressive. Should have been more comfortable but can't fault three points on the opening day. Work rate was excellent. Hope the Guy knock isn't too serious as him and Moxon could be a good partnership. Everyone did well but Feeney, Moxon, and Back the standouts. Plenty of positives. (@BenJoseph1057)

Comfortable win, they were very poor. Back and Gibson impressive, need to be more clinical against the better teams. (@thegaffa)

Great three points, throughly deserved, should have had more but not complaining, any comments from their noisy owners? (@keithelliott94)

Really promising start, organised, fit, energetic and at times creative. Only disappointment is that we didn’t get the two or three goals our play deserved. Back and Feeney were superb, also good to see Omari get some minutes back in his legs. (@Halpinforpope)

Another three or four goals would not have flattered us - excellent all round display. Very comfortable really (@jpastalker)

Great team performance, well organised and stuck to the game plan. Great start to the season..(@Philbell719Phil)

Hardest working Carlisle team we’ve seen probably since Simmo’s last tenure - go figure (@Invisiblebear84)

Morgan Feeney outstanding. Like the look of Edmondson and Moxon. Got to put chances away though. (@FeelingHoly)

Well it was great to be back to see the new guys and the old ones put in a good shift and get an opening day win. Happy days I'd say. (@LindaNi121202)

I really enjoyed today. Footy, graft and atmosphere decent, high press good to watch - only fell off due to bench not having the MF depth. Felt Moxon and Back were solid, Guy trying to attack more. And as for Dennis…baggers bag, Jon. It’s as simple as that. @mspoonz)

Dominated most of the game. Impressed with Moxon and Back. Take chances it could’ve been four or five (@Matthew_2693)

Great start but do we need to worry that we’re still not scoring when we dominate? (@mickychilts)

A really positive start to the season. You compare that performance to the last home game of last season, wow what a transformation. Little possession but what we did with it is what counted. Should have been more than 1-0 but encouraged and we defended well. (@Playbytherulz)

We didn't get out of first gear, they looked like they were trying hard. We should have scored at least four. Solid at the back, we'll score goals from the plenty of chances we create. Trust Simmo. (@LEEROTHERHAM)

Good solid performance. It could have been three or four...hopefully the near misses will develop into goals as we get match sharp (@3ddiew)

Brill performance from lads, battered 'em 1-0. Our keeper had one save to make, and how did that useless ref (nothing changes) not give either of two penalty claims? Thought partnership or Feeney and Barclay very good and Guy looked better now relieved of captaincy. Well done Blues. (@ericgreen866)

Moxon excellent first half, new keeper looks edgy and terrified, Back better going forward than defending, Dennis carrying on good form from last season, Armer still the obvious weak link, Edmondson looks sharp and hungry, team as a whole look fit. Room for improvement but a good start (@PeteMcCormick6)

What a great start!!! Should have scored another five on top. My stand-out players were Back, Feeney, Moxon, Gibson, Dennis, Guy...you know what, all 11 were worthy of MOTM (@tracy_sturgess)

Honestly, only negative was it should’ve been 4/5-0. Holy’s not had a save to make. We created loads of chances. Feeney, Back, Moxon and Gibson the standouts. Superb (@parkinsonross)
