Former Carlisle United loan man Elliot Watt has signed for big-spending Salford City.

The midfielder has left League Two rivals Bradford City in order to join the Ammies.

Salford have paid an undisclosed fee for Watt, who was at Brunton Park in the 2019/20 season.

It sees the ex-Wolves man, 22, leave Valley Parade after two seasons and 96 appearances.

He will play under new boss Neil Wood at the Peninsula Stadium.

Watt told the Salford website: “I wanted a fresh start, something new, some new challenges, and also to play under a coach who I felt can improve me.

“The gaffer was a big part of that with his background and the young players that he’s developed at Manchester United, I spoke to him and he was a massive part of why I chose to come here.

“I feel as though I can bring a lot to the team, I’ve got quite a lot of games under my belt even though I’m 22, so I feel as though I’m experienced at this level."

Watt made 14 appearances and scored one goal for the Cumbrians under Chris Beech in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign.

Salford host Carlisle on November 19 and visit Brunton Park on April 29 in the 2022/23 season.
