Former Carlisle United loanee Brandon Comley has joined League Two rivals Walsall.

Comley joined the Blues on loan from QPR in the 2015/16 season and went on to make 13 appearances under Keith Curle.

He subsequently spent temporary spells with Grimsby Town and Colchester United before joining the latter on a permanent basis in 2018.

A spell at Bolton Wanderers followed before Comley saw his contract mutually terminated in November 2021, and he spent time on trial back at Brunton Park in January of this year - but failed to earn a deal.

Dagenham & Redbridge then came calling and the midfielder featured 19 times before winning his move back to the EFL.

Speaking after signing his two-year contract, Comley said: "I’m excited and I can’t wait to get going.

“I spoke to the Head Coach and he said he is expecting an exciting season and he is hopeful that we can do good things this year.

“I am not new to the league but every year is different so I am just going to get my head down, work and try to give the fans and the gaffer everything I can offer, whether that is experience in the league or whether that is hard work and sheer determination just to do well for the club.

“I am over the moon to get the deal done and I just can’t wait to get going now.”
