With the League Two season growing ever closer, transfer activity across the division is ramping-up.

Hartlepool United manager makes first new addition

New Hartlepool United boss Paul Hartley has made his first addition at Victoria Park - bringing in experienced goalkeeper Kyle Letheren.

The 34-year-old spent last season with Morecambe and will serve as player-coach for Pools.

Hartley and Letheren previously worked together at Dundee.

Commenting on the signing, the Hartlepool manager said: "He is someone I know well from my time at Dundee - a good goalkeeper with good experience and I know he’s going to work well with Ben [Killip] and the rest of the group.

"He has the qualities and attributes to be a great goalkeeping coach and I know how excited he is to get started."

Brentford midfielder joins Gillingham

Recently-relegated Gillingham have signed midfielder Dominic Jefferies from Brentford.

The 20-year-old, who began his career with Newport County, was the player of the year for the Bees' B team last season - after netting eight times and providing seven assists.

Gills boss Neil Harris said: "He is an exciting prospect that the fans are really going to enjoy watching develop over a period of time.

"He comes to us with great pedigree having come through Newport's first-team level before moving on to Brentford B.

"He's an energetic, box-to-box, wholehearted, aggressive footballer that we think has got a lot of potential to develop with us, and we look forward to seeing him in a Gills shirt."

  • Championship side Peterborough United are keen on a move for Leyton Orient midfielder Hector Kyprianou, according to journalist Alan Nixon on PatreonThe 21-year-old was a regular for the O's last season, but has just one year remaining on his contract.
  • Salford and Tranmere are among the sides eyeing a move for Bristol City defender Ryley Towler. However, Football Insider report that a number of League One clubs are also monitoring the 20-year-old, who could leave on loan.
  • AFC Wimbledon are not interested in signing Rangers winger Josh McPake, who has been linked with CarlisleLondon News Online say the wideman is not a player interesting the Dons.
