Former Carlisle United youth defender Ben Richards-Everton is on the move in non-league.

The big centre-half has left National League club Barnet for personal reasons.

It was announced that the Bees had come to a mutual agreement to terminate Richards-Everton's contract.

The 30-year-old was on Carlisle's academy books before building his career in non-league and then with Partick Thistle, Dunfermline, Accrington Stanley and Bradford City.

He said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to the [Barnet] fans who continued to stick with us throughout two challenging seasons.

“I always put 100 per cent effort in whilst wearing a Barnet shirt and I hope you saw that.

“I would also like to thank [head coach] Dean Brennan and the chairman for understanding my personal circumstances, which led to my decision to leave the Bees.

“I wish the club all the best in the new season and beyond.”

Richards-Everton joined Barnet in January 2021 after an 18-month spell at Bradford during which he was sent off in a game against Carlisle at Valley Parade in September 2019.

Last season he made 39 appearances and scored four goals for the north London club, who finished 18th in the table.
