Carlisle United have given an update on when fans can expect to see their new kit.

The Blues are planning a launch of the new strip in mid-June.

But final dates are not yet set in stone because delivery dates are yet to be confirmed.

And the complications of getting through customs in the post-Brexit climate has been cited as an issue.

United will again be wearing kits made by Italian manufacturers Errea next term.

And they will be sporting a new main shirt sponsor in Cumbrian firm Bimson Haulage.

Providing an update on the situation on the club website, chief executive Nigel Clibbens said the 2022/23 kit design "was approved in 2021 and is in manufacture, and has been despatched from the factory in Italy."

"The kit launch is planned for mid-June, subject to the final delivery date being confirmed," he added.

"This is subject to getting through customs which is far longer and more complicated after Brexit."

United recently announced a sponsorship deal with Bimson who will replace Thomas Graham on the front of the kit for next season.

The haulage firm were previously back-of-shirt sponsors.

Clibbens, meanwhile, said United have appointed a new retail manager and retail shop assistant.

It follows the retirement of Jenny Anderson and Anne-Marie Gardner.

He added that United's retail performance "continues to be deliver good sales and margin [both better than budget]", and there would be new retail initiatives in the coming season.
