Former Carlisle United defender Jack Iredale is on the move in League One.

The Australian has turned down a new deal at Cambridge United, where he has spent the last two seasons.

And reports have linked the 26-year-old with a possible switch to third-tier rivals Bolton Wanderers.

Iredale has played a key part for Cambridge in their rise to League One, helping them win promotion in his first campaign at the Abbey Stadium and helping the club finish 14th in 2021/22.

That came after he joined the club following his release from Brunton Park after 30 appearances and two goals in the 2019/20 campaign.

He had joined the Cumbrans from Morton under Steven Pressley and also figured under Chris Beech.

He has since made 89 appearances for Cambridge.

"Cambridge United would like to thank Jack for his contribution to the club and community during his time with the Us," a club statement said.

If Iredale does join Bolton he will link up with another former Carlisle man in midfielder Kyle Dempsey.
