Annan Athletic will play host to some stars of the future next week when Galabank stages an under-18 Scotland v Wales schools international.

The Centenary Shield game will be played at Annan’s ground on Thursday, April 7, kick-off 7pm.

The youth international is being hosted by Annan in conjunction with Dumfries and Galloway Schools Football Association.

It could also see local boys and Queen of the South duo Lewis Gibson and Jay Burns, from Dumfries High School and Dumfries Academy respectively, line up for the home side.

The pair have already featured in previous games against Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, while Scotland also take on England today at Spennymoor.
