Carlisle United's Paul Simpson has been named manager of the week in League Two.

And Blues defender Morgan Feeney has been included in team of the week.

The recognition for the United duo comes after the latest impressive victory for Simpson's Cumbrians.

The 1-0 win over Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers was a sixth win in seven games as their remarkable resurgence continues.

Simpson, who has taken 18 points from a possible 21 since returning to the helm, has guided United to likely EFL safety.

He is also likely to be strongly in the running for the manager of the month award for March when the shortlists are announced next month.

Centre-half Feeney, meanwhile, has been in excellent form at the back for the Cumbrians.

The former Everton and Sunderland man produced a crucial goalline clearance to keep United's lead intact on Saturday.

It came amid another outstanding individual performance as Carlisle kept a clean sheet against the promotion-chasing Pirates.

The Cumbrians will bid to continue their stunning form with the rearranged League Two trip to Rochdale tomorrow night.

Also named in the League Two team of the week is Port Vale's former United striker Jamie Proctor, who hit an impressive goal against Sutton United on Saturday.

Players from Exeter City, Leyton Orient, Harrogate Town, Bradford City and Mansfield Town were also included.
