Carlisle United and Hartlepool United played out a goalless draw at Brunton Park last night.

Blues fans gave us their verdict on the game on Twitter.

In all seriousness, two poor to average teams slogging it out. Pools probs unlucky not to nick it. Look so weak in attack, new lad offers little. Howard excellent, McDonald and Feeney solid again. Another point and clean sheet not bad tbf - a tougher game on Sat though! (@leerooney)

That wasn’t pretty, crying out for some creativity in midfield. Howard certainly earned his wages with two excellent stops. All the same, 11 points from 15 is a very decent return. If we aren’t winning, at least we aren’t gifting three points to the opposition any more. (@DRNoble25)

A lot of effort but little quality. Nothing going on in midfield. Thought Riley for Mellish was the only way we could have changed it and taken back some control. (@BruceVander)

A good point leaves us 19th, both teams guilty of giving ball away, brilliant saves by Mark Howard and very impressed by Senior when he came on. Pal watching at home said handball was in box, should have been a penalty for United. Well done Blues, onwards and upwards. (@ericgreen866)

No teams are lying's a tight league and fine margins are on show. We attempted to start the game at a rate of knots but they weren't there for the taking, just when we thought we'd cracked it v Bradford. Hope the fog lifts for Saturday at FGR. (@LindaNi121202)

Started off with such hope and determination. They pressed and pushed. Second half they lost their shape and played hoof ball. Disappointed to have come away with just a point. (@richards_avril)

We’re eight clear, we’d have taken that a month ago need a couple more in. Another unbeaten, big challenge Saturday fog permitting (@keithelliott94)

Ineffective up front and in midfield, needs a creative spark to get us on the attack much quicker. We aren't going to concede many, but it's unlikely we will score many either. Frustrating to say the least! (@cumbrianbluess)

Terrible to watch, midfield pedestrian and to many passes went astray, ok for effort but we need at least two new faces, one of which must be able to hold the ball up front. In the end we were fortunate to get a point. Here's hoping we can find the right mixture to stay out of danger. (@peterjo91525330)

McDonald, Feeney and Howard excellent. Crying out for a target man. Senior impressive off the bench. Bit of a reality check the last couple of games. We’ll be safe but it’ll be a boring watch till the end of the season without a couple of additions. (@parkinsonross)

I was sure that Patrick was gonna score when he ran clean through, either poor finish or great save, but overall just another average game and another game proving we are crying out for a striker. I’ll take the point, but Keith has more work to get this team climbing up the league. (@djtooley247)

Very scrappy game, draw was a fair result (@laurabarr39)

Lack of cutting edge going forward is clear. Gave the ball away too easily and were probably lucky to come away with a point thanks to Howard. Mellish in a two doesn't work. Surprising that Millen went back to that when it is clear that you don't get the best from him. (@BenJoseph0157)

We need a centre forward still! Young lad not the answer…a proven striker with league experience is required. Howard showed his value at end yet again! (@stuferg1990)

Defensively solid yet again. Another point helps us get away from bottom two, we would all have taken that a few weeks ago. (@RonnieSmith1964)

Scrappy. My friend said 0-0 after 10 minutes. Wish we'd gone to the pub then. (@cufcman56)

Very hard watch and we lacked composure and creativity. Oh well. Still a few weeks of the transfer window left. (@timgv123)

Nothing to get excited about this week but that's two points from two games which a few months ago would have have probably been zero (@martyn_haworth)

A draw was a fair result, not the prettiest of games but it’s another clean sheet and another point towards safety. Not sure how the weather affected the game, it was hard to tell from the main stand. (@BrendanRogers69)

Can't keep playing Mellish in midfield and expecting different results. We look better with him up top. Get Riley back in, also feel Patrick is a winger not a CF. (@bluearmy941)

Defensive record is as good as four out of the top six. Need someone that can put the ball in the back of the net (@carlisletom)
