It has not, it's fair to say, been a vintage 12 months on the pitch for Carlisle United.
But as 2021 enters its closing stages, we can still look back on a few happier moments.
Here's our pick of the Blues' best goals of the year so far...
10. Omari Patrick v Walsall
Let's start at the very beginning, as Julie Andrews might sing. A ruthless, rising strike as the Blues went top of the table on 2021's first weekend.
9. Joshua Kayode v Cheltenham Town
Aerial prowess from the young loan striker to put United ahead against the champions-elect.
8. Brennan Dickenson v Salford City
This one was all about patience and timing, as Dickenson waited for the slowly dropping ball, then creamed it in off the post.
7. George Tanner v Salford City
Sorry, Salford. you again. This time a measured volley from right-back Tanner against the loan club that never played him.
6. Jordan Gibson v Morecambe
United seldom displayed direct free-kick mastery in 2021 - but in a Papa John's Trophy win at Morecambe, Gibson certainly did.
5. Joe Riley v Newport County
Carlisle ended one of their goal droughts in smooth style as Riley linked nimbly with Zach Clough before scoring in the first minute in south Wales.
4. Jordan Gibson v Shrewsbury Town
A belated consolation in an FA Cup defeat, but United's performance was signed off with a flourish by this lovely Gibson curler.
3. Joe Riley v Swindon Town
A supreme daisy-cutter from the midfielder to send United on their way to victory at the County Ground.
2. Omari Patrick v Crawley Town
In a spring victory that stopped the rot, Patrick produced this peach from distance.
1. Offrande Zanzala v Southend United
Just five touches, incorporating chest control, a dribble, a shimmy and a deadly finish. Individual brilliance from Zanzala.
