Bradford City boss Derek Adams says Brunton Park can boast one of the best pitches in League Two.

The manager of Carlisle United's opponents highlighted the surface prepared by groundsman David Mitchell and his team ahead of Saturday's game.

Bradford are hoping to end a 10-game winless run at United's ground this weekend.

Adams said: "The pitch is always in a fabulous condition - one of the best in the league.

"It's a nice, open pitch, a really good surface."

On the challenge of facing United, he added: “It was an excellent win for them away to Stevenage [last weekend].

"It was two new managers who’ve gone into clubs and they’ve kept a clean sheet and scored two goals.

“They’ve suffered with injuries as well this season. They are starting to get some players coming back. But we’ve now got to get the wins instead of draws. The three points is all that matters.

"Carlisle are coming off a great result but we’re going there looking to win the game. “We’ve obviously drawn too many at this time and we want to get out of that cycle."

Adams is set to be without ex-Blues frontman Andy Cook, who has been out for a month with a hamstring injury.

The Bantams manager has backed Cook's fellow forwards Lee Angol and Theo Robinson to supply the goals in his absence.

"We go there with a similar squad to we had last week, we've got three injured and one suspended," Adams added on the club website.

"Lee Angol is the second highest goalscorer in the team, and Theo's the third now. They've got that opportunity if they play on Saturday to get even more goals.

"In the spell Andy Cook and Charles Vernam have been out, the two of them have shown they can score."
