Carlisle United fans have again spoken of their worry and frustration after another defeat for the Blues.

They gave us their views on Twitter after the 1-0 defeat at Mansfield.

Here is a selection.

It's so poor. Looked better when we changed shape. But we need a striker so badly. Fishburn has to start. Mellish cannot start anymore. Would like to see more of Whelan sat in front of the back four. I can't see any way we stay up this year. (@Elfutbo83248110)

Build up play ok at times in the second half but movement is still lacking. Lack of set piece threat is still a worry. A soft goal conceded which Mansfield seemed happy to sit back on and didn’t offer much afterwards. (@f_analytics)

A game of two halves. Terrible defending on their goal so early. Never really in it first half but second half much better - so unlucky for Gibson's effort hitting bar. When you're top they go in. Never mind, roll on Saturday. C'mon Santa, give us a striker. (@ericgreen866)

84 minutes plus stoppage time to find an equaliser but yet another blank. We can’t even score off someone’s backside or get a cheap penalty. David Holdsworth’s wage can’t be justified and must be sacrificed for the January transfer fund. (@mlgraham73)

Headless chickens would've been a compliment first half, improved second but at least half that team would struggle to make a National League XI. However, a few seasoned professionals could help transform most of those players. (@thegaffa)

I’ve ran out of things to say. Every game has the same outcome. We concede and can’t score. But yet we always look the better team. At what point to we start to question Millen? January fast approaching but he’s already admitted he hasn’t got contacts north so what hope do we have? (@djtooley247)

The way we began this game was a disgrace. We give them an early gift of a goal. It got slightly better as the game went on and you could say we had chances, which with a bit of luck we could have scored from. It's another defeat with no goals and many more will spell disaster. (@peterjo91525330)

We need more upfront and even more up in the boardroom. Simply stating that they’re aware of fans’ thoughts is not good enough. As custodians they’re responsible for taking care of and protecting the club. The fans are part of that and are typically shown nothing but contempt. (@Loko87)

Missing chances and conceding poor goals. Sign of a bad team. No bounce from Millen at all. More chance of finding Lord Lucan than seeing Holdsworth. In big trouble and without a miraculous January we’ll be out of the league for years. (@parkinsonross)

Strikers…we need strikers in January…at least two, and decent quality ones as well, not just a punt on youngsters, now is not the time!! (@reaypa)

Highlight of the game was Gibson's late shot on goal, other than that clueless, utterly clueless. We desperately need some experience up front, but I have no confidence that will happen in January.... @tracy_sturgess)

So many questions. I rated Whelan...tonight he's reluctant to put a tackle in and guilty of ball-watching. Mellish has completely lost his touch, no ball control on tonight's showing, plus he's all over the place leaving holes in midfield. Why was Young defending at RB at times? Second half 100% better....but why were we standing off them first half, getting over run? Why did they have to be told at half time it would seem? Arrrrrrrrgh. Positive (ahem) no change at the bottom. (@LindaNi121202)

There has been no change since Beech left. Still the long ball. Still no proper press. Still no striker. Decision-making by Millen with Mellish up top is appalling. We can't just sit and wait, hoping January will bring anything new. Any decent player won't want to sign. This time last year...what a difference a year makes. Style. Energy. Committment. Confidence. Drive. Hope. All gone. We can blame Holdsworth and board, but the players brought are not performing with a coherent, recognisable tactic. Do they understand the tactic? Is there one? (@In5ertHandle)

In general play we are no better or worse than most opponents. Knocking it around in your own half is easy…trying to break other team down, or being able to get a shot away under pressure however is a different matter that requires a little bit of quality of which we have none. (@gravesylad)

Just inevitable really, as soon as we concede which we always do, the writing is on the wall. Barely any of these players deserve the shirt, club is rotten to the core. (@Halpinforpope)

Bit of late pressure and they looked uncomfortable, Gibson unlucky but it’s another nil that’s the bottom line. (@keithelliott94)

Deserved a point in the end. Sloppy first half did for us tho. Not enough quality up top. Whenever the ball went forward it wasn’t sticking. (@ScottBeeby1)

Poor defending mixed with poor attacking is a recipe for disaster. Even though we have been slightly better in defence under Millen, there really isn't any other positives. Another defeat in a depressing season that looks like it's going to end in the drop to non-league! (@cumbrianbluess)

Points Win Prizes, so the better second half with better shape, well, gets us nowhere…got to start providing service up front and scoring. (@Bluebolero)

When does the season end? (@hatkinson5527)
